1. Greetings and welcome into the realm of RAW WAR!
Let us start off with the basics! From what i can gather the band officially started
in 2020, how and where did you all meet and what types of bands did you share worship for?
Lucas
-we actually started out in 2021 but we officially named our self’s “Disarray” in 2022. It all started with me and Valter. I had just got a Marshall half stack and was struggling with recording my own stuff. Valter who already knew how to record and also made his own music helped me record my first demo, it actually turned out pretty well but now we just make jokes about that demo.
Valter seemed to like my idea and he began learning how to play guitar. Eventually me and Valter began searching for a drummer and stubbled upon one on a Facebook ad and shortly after we also stumbled upon bassist Edvin in the same way. The lineup Didn’t work out great at all and we had some pretty big issues.
Suddenly our drummer left, and I contacted Morgan who played in same death metal band as me, and Morgan agreed to join, and that’s our current lineup.
Morgan
-I was first introduced to the band in November 2022. I was friends with the drummer who played at the time and got introduced when we had a gig together. The drummer was planning to leave the band which gave me the opportunity to join the band which is something I suggested at the time and in the end it became reality. The bands I would say we all share worship for is metallica, dark angel and slayer and more.
Although me and Edvin (the bassist have more of an interest in death metal and have been taking a lot of inspiration from that.
2. Before the album that was released in this past August was there any demo recordings or rehearshals that you did or was the years used only for the creation of a full album as an debut release?
Lucas
-We recorded a whole lot of rehearsals and demos, mostly to get an idea of how it would sound live and on our debut album.
Some day we might release rehearsals and demos if people are interested in that.
We recorded the album between Christmas 2022 upon till spring 2023.
3. We talked a bit ouside of this interview on how strong this fresh young metal wave in Sweden is so please let me now a bit more in depth on what bands you like from this new´ish wave and is there some of these bands you think has not gotten enough light?
Lucas
-there are a whole lot of bands from this new type of wave that I like allot.
I really like Eternal Evils debut album and along with Atonement’s demo and there is som really cool stuff on Xorsist debut too. I also think many of these new young Swedish bands deserves more attention especially those who capture a more raw sound, I think it’s time for a switch up after all these years of nu metal bands.
4. Describe your creative process, how is a typical Disarray song made? Riffs first?
Morgan
-Usually I improvise drums over the riffs the guitarists write and over time it develops into the final product. I improvise some details and the ones I like those are the parts that’ll make the final result.
Lucas
-Yeah it usually starts with the riff then drums, bass and lastly vocals.
The writing process with Evil Is Reborn, usually started with me and Valter recording our own demos then showing them to the rest of the band, and everyone made their own spin of the demo. With the new album we are trying to switch up the writing process and write more songs together when we rehears.

5. What is the worst trends(not just music) in Stockholm now you think?
What makes you puke? If you could travel in time (through some kind of nasty wormhole) to what year would you go to and what would you do?
Lucas
-I tend to respect all kinds of music, but I just can’t stand the Swedish hip-hop culture, stupid lyrics, ugly cloths and so on.
There are many instances where listeners are bought, and buying popularity is something we would never do. I rather be a band with a small “real” audience than a big band with fake audience.
If I were to travel to another time it would probably be the early 80s and start our band at that time, as I think our sound has that raw edge that isn’t so popular anymore.
6. I like the cool logo and the retro photo on the album, looks like the 60´s almost when looking at the colors and those disgusting haircutted kids, looks like dry thick blomkål wigs. I think its a cover design that stands out even if its a bit untypical for the genre. How did you talk about when deciding upon what to use for cover?
I think i get the title "Evil is reborn" is indicating that the evil indoctrination starts at an early age....
A bit like Venoms Possessed, not visually of course but in spirit.

Lucas
-Yeah whole idea with the cover was to somewhat stand out from the rest of the bands. The cover was premade and when i saw it I remember saying to myself that’s going to be our cover. I think it’s really unique and also pretty eerie and mysterious.
I remember showing the cover for the rest of the band, and both Morgan and Valter thought it looked like complete shit haha. Though Edvin and I liked it and I explained the vision I had and eventually we bought the cover.
7. When looking at the song titles one gets a feeling the album has a focus (besides metal madness!) on how the general population is shaped by the ones who rule, to make a dumb society seems to be the only way the idiot leaders can keep their own power, if we had a smarter population they would not get away with all the shit they do! (that goes for most of the world) What inspires your lyrics?
Lucas
-Your calculation is really similar to our vision with the lyrics and song titles.
Some lyrics is just about violence and banging your head, but many lyrics are also based on politics and injustice in society. I like to bring up things that makes me furious in my lyrics and that’s what motivates me to write.
8. So have you spoken with some labels to do a proper physical release of "Evil is reborn"? If so
with whom and what have the response been? This should not only be in digital format!
Lucas
-Before we released Evil Is Reborn, we sent the material around but now one showed any interest. Though we did a small batch of our own cds numbered 1-100, just a few left now but they are being sold on Gigg’s and by DM on our Instagram.
Though we recently now signed with jawbreaker records which is really awesome.
9. How was the studio time recording the album and who did produce and mix it?
Morgan
-Personally I don’t like how the drums turned out on the album. I’ve added a lot of extra details now after the album’s release. If I could re-record the album now I definitely would.
Lucas
-The studio time was a real mess, but it was totally worth it. We recorded most instruments at different locations. We started with the guitars which we recorded in my basement. I used a 100w Marshall head which was really really loud. Me and Valter could barely hear after the guitar sessions, but we really wanted to get that loud saturated thrash sound so the potential hearing loss was worth it.
After that we began recording the bass. Valter had a studio certificate at our music school so he rented some sessions for me and Edvin where we recorded bass. The fun part was that neither me or Edvin were allowed to be in the studio, because I didn’t have a certificate and Edvin didn’t even go in that school.
The drums we recorded in a place called Rockville. The drums sounded really bad and even worse recorded, so there is allot of post processing on the drums. The vocals was also recorded in my basement.
I was the one mixing the album but the whole band helped out with the recording process.
10. How many gigs have you done and i guess you are looking forward to the gig with Eternal Evil.
Lucas
-in total we have only done 8 Gigg’s which is odd because it feels like we have done a lot more.
We’re really looking forward to the Gigg with Eternal Evil, If there is enough people showing up I think it will be a killer gig.

11. Last stop is here, thanks for your time answering these questions and the last word is yours!
Morgan
-I’ve had a lot of ups and downs this year and I took a break from disarray due to lack if motivation and I am really thankful to be a part of the band still and that the rest of the band had patience with me because i know that it was a frustrating process for them. I’m now glad to be part of the band again, my motivation is stronger than ever and I am really happy to be able to destroy the drums in the name of disarray.
Lucas
-thanks for the great questions!
