Devil Moon Interview!

This time we head into the cold blizzard that is in Finlands "OZ" and talk with this duo

about only essential stuff! You will see!

1. Hailz and greetings into this unreal realm of ones and zeros!

So if nothing is real then all is permitted?

What is your one rule of life?

A: Hailz!! Your fellow Mutant Sex Demon here!

Nothing is real except heavy metal and sleazy B-movies.

For that one rule part I have to say that old phrase that every wannabe lifecoach like to use:

Never give a fuck what other people say. Wish that those who preach this, could follow it too.

2. From the dirty times of Sperm Angel and weird portals of Astral Wizard you have now arrived to

this new pit stop, filled up with new gas and ready to go!

What brought this great idea forth to do this unholy thing of melting together the two

previous bands souls? Did it just happened or was there a place in you that itched extra hard?

For me when i heard Devil Moons songs of the split with Alcöhölik Aggressör i felt the strong force

back again from you guys!

For me i think Sperm Angels peak material was on the 666 release (one reason i wanted to release it!) and now i heard that same high morbid energy again, the mix of raw Heavy/Speed/Black metal with bits of old swinging rock and more! Ahh and that "Castle of Mummified Princess" is a great endind song and such superb fitting vocals on that too! (and that drumming is kicking off!)

A: Whole idea kinda started when my friend from Guatemala: R. Ofensor (Adulterer)

said that he had new band and it would be awesome to make split with Sperm Angel.

At the time we had just released "Life is Poison" and had no new songs for that project.

So one night Me (M.S.D) and my brother: Lord Ishii (S.M.C.L) got drunk and we wanted to play

rock'n'roll with sleazy vibe (like Mentors or GG Allin & The Jabbers)

So we went to rehearsal room and recorded three songs for split.

That was the beginning of this band. We didn't have any plans to continue this band after the split

but something got us to record this weird dark rock'n'roll sleaze again and it was kinda good,

at least we enjoyed doing it.

3. Tell me about the thoughts and goals you stuffed into Devil Moon, what music is your

specific inspirations here and how did it go recording the split?

Was you in direct contact with the other band for this i guess?

A: We didn't have (and do not have) any goals other than playing dark rock'n'roll stuff

with sleazy vibe and evil atmosphere. We are big fans of old heavy metal and rock'n'roll.

And I'm big fan of extreme horror and 70's biker sleazy films.

We love underground stuff and I personally think that some

stuff is better to stay in underground, out of sight of bigger crowd.

Partial answer to other question is at last answer.

4. Last year we saw the self titled EP with its 5 great songs, it expands the sound here i feel

and is a bit less "Speedy" so to speak and it delves into some more grand darkness, again melds

the melodic style with the demonic atmosphere with ease, the perverted humor is present as ever

and it just works! This mix could very easy fall flat on its face but not here, why is that you think?

Forbidden to answer - "I dont know." hahah

A: Glad to hear that it truly works! We both are a bit of twisted guys so it can be heard in music as well I think.

Sperm Angel & Astral Wizard are both bit of speed metal(ish) music so we wanted to do

things little bit different this time. Less tempo, crooked melodies and

groovy drum patterns can't go wrong.

Atmosphere in here is somehow more powerful than on many records I would say.

Life's been pretty crazy at the times for us, so it might be one factor for this atmosphere.

When you make this kind of music, you must go all in and dig deep.

5. How has it been working with the labels here susch as Old Forest Production & Signal Rex?

Have you talked with other labels also or is the future unclear on these points?

A: Both labels are very good!

There is also Vinyl LP of self titled EP coming out through: Sturmglanz label.

For now future is unknown but I have feeling that Devil Moon full length will see the daylight.

We dont have any other social media stuff than instagram so those who are interested of our

If there is new stuff coming out, it will be announced there.

6. Talking about labels can you spill some beans on your label Satan's Den Syndicate? I saw recently that the split with Kuppa and Astral Wizard popped up! Tell something about it!

A: So basically Satan's Den Syndicate started as something like a movement.

It represents union of filth metal bands, such as Sperm Angel, Devil Moon and Astral Wizard.

These are the only ones that represents a certain melodic filth metal style and started it.

I've searching other bands also that would fit in this gang (more than label) but there aren't any.

I run Youtube channel for which I upload all disgusting music under this category.

Also some small presses of CDR:s have made.

This is more of something I love to do, than to get something out of it.

This is a gang of filth metal bands. No more, no less.

7. On the dark streets on the Devil Moon there is a ghost haunting with a Necrophile Passion i heard! ....What i dont know is what daily beauty routines are for Lord Warmoon and Lord Ishii ?

Is the Finnish forests the same as before by the way?

Never any UFO crashlandings or so?

A: That is not a rumour!

There is certainly some dark streets with some ghosts with bad intentions in here. Beauty routines are simple. The more you drink, the better you look. We certainly look better at dark.

We have done some UFO researchings lately and we got information in our hands that could put

many lives in danger. We are sort of like Scully and Mulder (on acid).

(Ed. Who is Skully of you then? haha)
